The materials of single-pass printers mainly include plastic materials, metal materials and ceramic materials.
Plastic materials
- PLA (polylactic acid): This is a biodegradable thermoplastic derived from renewable resources, environmentally friendly, low printing temperature, no harmful substances, smooth surface, suitable for making artworks, decorations and some functional parts. PLA has a variety of colors to choose from and is easy to operate.
- ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer): This is an amorphous thermoplastic known for its durability and good strength and durability. ABS is impact-resistant, heat-resistant, and low-temperature resistant, and is cheap and easy to process. It is suitable for making accessories, toys, models, etc. However, it may release unpleasant odors during printing and is prone to warping.
- PETG (polyethylene terephthalate): It combines the advantages of PLA and ABS, has high toughness and good chemical resistance, high transparency, good flexibility, impact resistance, and heat resistance, and is suitable for making containers, packaging materials, etc.
- TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane): This is a soft elastic material that is wear-resistant and cold-resistant, suitable for making shoes, mobile phone cases, etc.
- PC (Polycarbonate): It has high impact strength, chemical resistance and UV stability, suitable for outdoor use, such as outdoor construction and decoration materials.
- PA (Nylon): It is tough and durable, resistant to high temperatures and impacts, has good tensile and mechanical strength, and is suitable for high-end engineering applications, such as gears and fixtures.
- HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene): It has strong impact resistance and low cost, and is widely used in home appliances, automobiles and toy manufacturing, and can replace some ABS materials.
- PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral): It has high viscosity, transparency, and impact resistance. It is often used in safety glass interlayers to provide protection and sound insulation.
- Metallic Materials Stainless Steel: It has beautiful appearance, corrosion resistance, and is not easy to damage. It is suitable for making pots and pans, urban sculptures, modern artworks, etc.
- Aluminum alloy: Lightweight and high strength, suitable for aerospace, automobile manufacturing and other fields.
- Titanium alloy: High strength and good corrosion resistance, often used in the manufacture of high-end applications such as medical devices.
- Nylon aluminum powder: Printed by SLS technology, suitable for printing decorations, jewelry and other products.
Ceramic materials
Ceramic powder is mainly used to make ceramic products with complex structures such as tableware and building components. These products not only have excellent physical properties, but also have high artistic value.
